Occasionally...

I like it when my food goes bad quickly.

It reminds me that food should shoudn't last very long. And my choices should be fresh and healthy. There are only a few things that I think God intended to have a long shelf life. And thanks (but no thanks) to genetic engineering & preservatives, most of what's out there has a ridiculously long shelf life.

Case and point.
6 months.
Say it ain't so.

Ha,ha, thanks Rhonda and yes AMEN! What is Velveeta anyways? Wait, never mind I dont want to know. I was gonna post on this and havent gotten to it but when you get a chance Crystal go out and rent or Netflix Food Matters. You will LOVE this documentary about food, healing the body from everything and medicine. So interesting, well maybe only for a food nerd like myself. ;)

You are so right. I really wish it wasn't so much pricier and challenging (read: shopping with my banshee boys) to eat fresh daily. Yup...I use frozen and canned items almost daily. Please say you still love me in spite of my obvious flaws! ;-)

6 months or longer WITHOUT REFRIGERATION. Scary. And grated cheese... check the label... it has SO MUCH in it we don't need. Why does nobody in my office make anything from scratch? And only a few actually cook at all, usually they buy from the local store and bring it in for our parties. I don't get it. No flavor. My "martha stewart" mom did have some good ideas... a woman before her time.
